In geographic areas that experience snow and ice it is important to keep the satellite antenna reflector and antenna feed free from ice and snow. The de-ice system can be an electric blanket or hot air blown into the de-ice enclosure. There is also an option on many antennas to separately de-ice the feed

This Vertex controller has the options for manual or automatic control with separate control for the reflector and the feed.
