Smaller BUCs typically do not have an internal power supply, they look for either 24VDC or 48VDC to be added to the incoming signal from the modem. Not all L-Band modems are equipped with a BUC power supply, this is why we manufactured a box to receive the L-Band signal from the modem and add the 24V and 10 MHz reference and then pass the complete signal to the BUC.
