The UPC-A is a self contained system that adjusts the transmit power of the amplifiers to compensate for varying weather coditions.
The UPC receives input signal from a beacon receiver which constantly measures the received power and connects to the UPC with a DC voltage that is proportional to the downlink signal strength.
